I love the combination of the vertical elements coupled with the swirl of the spiral staircase.  Credit to Gwen for discovering the location.

Supposedly, the red building in the background is the most photographed building in Rockport, MA.  I believe it – just check out the town’s Wikipedia article.  But this sunset photo was too good to pass up.  The combination of buoys, boats, and buildings created a wonderful explosion of reds, whites, and blues.

I was not fond of this picture when I first saw it on screen, and I nearly discarded it completely.  But after taking a second to really think about it, I realized why I disliked it.  This picture leaves me with a profound sense of unease.  I don’t like how the dock floats on such strange looking floats.  I don’t like the lonely and abandoned boat.  I don’t like the looming clouds on one side and the harsh sun on the other.

After a second look, I realized I liked this picture.  I like it because it creeps me out.
