The Hoover Dam
This is an 8-shot HDR photo of the Hoover Dam I took in February. I took this photo from the new Mike O’Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, which affords an incredible viewpoint of the dam for anyone willing to walk out on the sidewalk. Just don’t look down, especially if you have a fear of heights.

Arc de Triomphe
I really wanted to capture the Arc de Triomphe in a new and less traditional fashion. Most photos look at it squarely - seeing it as an arch or portal. I knew that I did not want that look, but I couldn’t have told you want I did want until I had some time to explore it.The Arc de Triomphe is huge - bigger than most people realize. I kept thinking about it as a giant stone monolith, and my photo tries to capture that thinking. The perspective I use is less about an arch and more about the incredible mass of the object.I used HDR in the post processing - combining three photos into one in order to highlight the beautiful afternoon light against the darker sky.
